Part-time Bookkeeper - Portland, OR

 

The Bookkeeper at Clive Coffee works comfortably in a paperless environment with evolving technology and continually improving internal processes. They find joy in repetitious, meticulous work, but can quickly adapt to changes in process, automation, and systems within a growing company. The Bookkeeper thrives in a fast-paced, structured environment, is committed to providing exceptional bookkeeping and accounting support to the Accounting Manager and Finance Department, and has a knack for communication, collaboration, and relationship building, even within a largely virtual environment. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, has excellent organizational and time-management skills, is an all-star communicator, and has experience with purchase orders (POs) and providing accounting support in a retail environment.

Details:

  • FTE: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Location: Portland, OR - Hybrid Flexibility (1 day a week onsite required)
  • Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour, DOE
  • FLSA Status: No-Exempt

Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:

Accounts Payable

  • Process general and administrative (G&A) bills and facilitate approval as needed
  • Match purchase order bills to purchase receipts
Banking
  • Record banking transactions for deposits and expenses daily
Light Accounts Receivable
  • Email invoices
  • Coordinate payments
Other Responsibilities
  • Reconcile showroom cash deposits and till, making bank deposits as needed
  • Monitor and manage company accounting email
  • Scan and save mailed invoices

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, 3+ years of professional office or retail experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable
  • Intermediate Excel experience (vlookups, subtotals, & some keyboard shortcuts)
  • Experience working with connected ERP or Inventory and Accounting systems
  • Must be a self-starter with a keen desire to learn and problem-solve
  • Comfort and experience working remotely in a paperless environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use personal vehicle for bank deposits and occasional office errands
