Hi. Very nicely made and

Hi. Very nicely made and the thermos is excellent. This does not have to do with the quality of the workmanship, but I’m finding it challenging to get the correct grind/brew time. For 4/5 cups, even with a course grind (french press grind) it’s taking the water more than five minutes to get thru the coffee grinds. I.e. even when brew time is complete there is still water in the grinds. Otherwise, it’s a very easy drip machine to use and very easy to clean...

Love this machine. Looks great

Love this machine. Looks great on the countertop. Brews fast, wonderful coffee. I had a bona vita machine that I loved for years, but this is even better.

Needs a new lid/carafe design asap

Brewing works fine, but very disappointed with the poor design of the carafe and lid for serving. Doesn't keep heat well, and leaks every time I pour a cup from it. When I used a Chemex, I'd transfer it to a carafe - but this looks like it's supposed to work as just that. It's been a bit of a mess to be honest.

Great Coffee

After having used a French Press for many years, I decided I wanted a drip coffee maker. I read a lot of reviews on different products and finally decided on the Ratio 6. When I started my investigation I had never heard of this brand. It arrived very quickly and I have been delighted with it. I did adjust the water/coffee amounts to suit my taste.

We like nearly everything about

We like nearly everything about this coffee maker. Makes great tasting coffee, is easy to use, and is a stylish addition to our coffee center. For all the thought that must have gone into the design of the carafe cover, however, the pouring spout is decidedly this product's weak link. It pours acceptably at first, but as the level goes down so does the performance. It is painfully slow, and creates an inconsistent pour. We solve that by removing the cover to pour and replacing it; it pours better without the cover. The gizmo that you place above the grounds to keep things warm is a great idea. Now if you could design it in such a way that it is easier to place the carafe assembly into its brewing place, that would be nice. Overall, great product!

Thanks for the review and feedback!

Something not right with this one

Just received this a few days ago. The machine produces a chemical aroma. Thought It was my coffee or grind but even running only hot water it has a burnt rubber smell. As I await Clive’s advice I’m getting ready to return.

Since you asked...

The Ratio Six does it basic job; it makes very fine coffee. It does take getting used to: I thought the ring of wet grounds at the top of the filter holder indicated an overflow and so I reduced the amount of beans and changed the grind. Eventually I realized there was no real overflow into the coffee and used the full amount of beans, etc. It is on the clunky side: carafe is heavy, heat shield makes for clumsy fit, and the lid makes for awkward pouring. Also, by the way, the coating on the carafe handle in already flaking off. So: essential function of producing very good coffee is met but elements of operation don't quite match the stylishness.

Sorry to hear about the coating on the handle! That's covered by warranty. We'll have Ratio reach out to arrange a replacement. Have you tried turning the carafe over to let the coffee settle by the spout before pressing the pour button? You should get a nice clean pour.
