This Privacy Policy describes how Clive Coffee ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit, shop on, or otherwise interact with clivecoffee.com (the "Site"), contact our support team, or sign up for our SMS or email marketing programs.

Personal Information We Collect

Device Information. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect information about your device and browser, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. We also collect information about the pages or products you view, what site or search term referred you here, and how you interact with the Site — including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. We call this "Device Information," collected via:

• Cookies — data files placed on your device, often including a unique identifier. See "Cookies and Your Choices" below.
• Log files — track actions on the Site and record IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
• Web beacons, tags, and pixels — record how you browse the Site and whether you complete a purchase after viewing an ad.
• Session replay — records how you move through and interact with pages so we can find and fix usability problems.

Order Information. When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, PayPal, and/or Affirm account details), and phone number. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.

Account and Marketing Information. If you create an account, join our rewards program, or opt in to SMS or email marketing, we collect your email address and/or phone number, your consent status and preferences, and your activity with our messages (such as opens and clicks).

Support Information. When you contact us by chat, email, phone, or form, we collect the information you provide and the content of our conversation.

Reviews. If you submit a product review, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your review.

Together, these are referred to as "Personal Information."

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use Personal Information to:

• Fulfill orders — processing payment, arranging shipping, and providing invoices and order confirmations;
• Communicate with you about your order, account, rewards, or support request;
• Screen orders for potential risk or fraud;
• Understand how visitors use the Site, and improve and optimize it;
• Measure and improve our advertising, and show you relevant ads on other sites and apps; and
• Send you marketing emails and text messages, where you've opted in.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share Personal Information with service providers who help us run the Site and our business, including:

• Shopify, which powers our online store — Shopify's privacy policy
• Payment providers, including Shop Pay, PayPal, and Affirm, to process payments and financing
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand how visitors use the Site. Microsoft Clarity records session replays of how visitors interact with pages. You can opt out of Google Analytics here.
• Variant, to test and improve the Site — for example, by showing different visitors different versions of a page and measuring which works better. Variant uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize returning visitors and remember which version they saw.
• Klaviyo, to send our email and SMS messages and to personalize them based on your activity on the Site
• Intercom, to provide customer support chat
• Judge.me (product reviews), Smile.io (rewards), and UpPromote (affiliate and referral program)
• Consentmo, to manage cookie consent and privacy requests

Advertising partners. We share Device Information — such as cookie identifiers, IP address, the pages and products you view, and purchases — with advertising partners, including Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and Microsoft (Bing), and may include others such as Reddit, Pinterest, and LiveIntent. For signed-in customers, this may include a hashed (encrypted) version of your email address. These partners use this information to measure our ads and to show you relevant ads on other sites and apps.

We do not sell your Personal Information for money. However, sharing information with advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of Personal Information under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or by choosing "Do not sell or share" on our cookie banner.

We may also disclose Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers.

Cookies and Your Choices

When you visit the Site, our cookie banner asks for your cookie preferences. Depending on where you live, some cookies stay off until you accept them; in other regions they are on by default and you can opt out. Our cookies fall into four categories:

• Necessary — required for the Site to work, such as your cart and checkout. These are always on.
• Preferences — remember choices you make, such as your region.
• Statistics — help us understand how visitors use the Site and test improvements to it (for example, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Variant).
• Marketing — used to measure and personalize advertising and marketing (for example, Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, and Klaviyo).

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information for that browser. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no common standard for them.

SMS Marketing

If you opt in to receive SMS/text messages from us, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing messages at the phone number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for assistance. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Our SMS program is operated in accordance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable carrier guidelines.

Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

When you place an order, we retain your Order Information for our records to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, unless and until you ask us to delete it (subject to those legal obligations). Marketing Information is retained until you opt out or ask us to delete it. Cookies are kept for the periods shown in our Cookie Preferences.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what categories of Personal Information we collect, use, disclose, and the sources and purposes for doing so (as described above);
• Access the specific pieces of Personal Information we hold about you;
• Delete Personal Information we've collected from you, subject to certain exceptions;
• Correct inaccurate Personal Information;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information, and out of use of sensitive Personal Information for purposes beyond what's necessary to provide our services;
• Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, choose "Do not sell or share" on our cookie banner, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser.

To exercise your other rights, submit a request on our US Privacy Requests page, email [email protected], or call us at 888-557-5320. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Other U.S. State Residents

If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Texas, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your Personal Information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of Personal Information, or certain profiling. To opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of Personal Information, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. To exercise your other rights, submit a request on our US Privacy Requests page or contact us using the information below. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line.

European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or UK, you have the right to:

• Access the Personal Information we hold about you;
• Correct or update inaccurate information;
• Request deletion of your information;
• Restrict or object to our processing of your information;
• Request a portable copy of your information;
• Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, for non-essential cookies); and
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

We process your information to fulfill contracts with you (e.g., orders placed through the Site), with your consent (e.g., non-essential cookies and marketing), or to pursue our legitimate business interests described above. Your information may be transferred outside Europe, including to Canada and the United States, using appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
