This is the kind of Gesha that reminds you why the variety became legendary in the first place. Grown by Demetrio Sanchez in Colombia and sourced through our partner Maniwa, this lot represents true Gesha genetics—increasingly rare as mutated, lower-quality seeds flood the market. Roasted by Goshen Coffee in San Diego, it showcases the classic floral elegance and refined complexity that made Gesha the most celebrated coffee variety in the world.
Demetrio's meticulous farm management and processing create the foundation for Goshen's thoughtful roast profile, which preserves the delicate aromatics while developing enough body to make this coffee approachable and deeply satisfying.
Tasting Notes
Expect jasmine and bergamot on the nose, with flavors of white peach, honeysuckle, and candied orange peel. The body is silky and tea-like—refined without being thin. Bright citric acidity lifts the cup without overwhelming it, and the finish lingers with hints of chamomile and raw honey. This is Gesha at its most expressive: floral, complex, and impossibly clean.
Brew Methods
This coffee shines brightest in pour over methods—V60, Kalita Wave, or Chemex—where clarity and nuance take center stage. A lower water temperature (around 200°F) and longer brew time will coax out the most delicate floral notes. It also makes an exceptional light espresso for those with dialed-in equipment, though we recommend a slightly coarser grind and longer ratio (1:2.5 or higher) to preserve its elegance. French press works if you're gentle with agitation and don't mind trading some clarity for a rounder body.
