Need to Know

The Eureka Mignon Specialita is the grinder that changed what home baristas could expect at the $600-$700 price point. With 55mm flat steel burrs, stepless micrometric adjustment, and digital timed dosing, it delivers the grind consistency and speed you'd find in a commercial cafe — in a compact, whisper-quiet package that fits on a home counter. This isn't a grinder you outgrow. It's a grinder you keep dialing in for years.

Key Features

  • 55mm flat steel burrs: Large enough to grind fast and cool, precise enough for single-origin espresso or milk drinks
  • Stepless micrometric adjustment: Infinite grind settings with a smooth, continuous dial — no stepped limitations
  • Digital timed dosing: Program two grind times to 0.1-second precision, displayed on a clean white-on-black screen
  • Silent operation: Heavy sound insulation keeps noise below 60dB — you can pull a shot at 6am without waking the house
  • Clump-free distribution: The chute delivers what Clive's team calls a "waterfall" of grounds — fluffy, even, and easy to distribute in the portafilter
  • Removable upper burr: Clean and maintain the burrs without losing your dialed-in grind setting
  • Compact footprint: Fits under standard cabinets while still housing commercial-grade internals

Ideal For

The Specialita is built for the intermediate home barista who's serious about espresso but realistic about space and budget. It's perfect for households pulling 2-6 shots a day, whether that's straight espresso or milk drinks. If you're upgrading from a pressurized basket machine or a blade grinder, this is the grinder that shows you what you've been missing. If you're already pulling decent shots and want more control, the stepless adjustment gives you the precision to chase flavor without the frustration of stepped grinders. And if you live in an apartment or have early risers in the house, the silent operation means you can dial in your morning shot without disturbing anyone.

This is the grinder for people who want to enjoy the ritual — not fight with their equipment. The Specialita just works, morning after morning, with the kind of consistency that turns espresso from a hobby into a daily habit you look forward to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reviews

Customers said this espresso grinder delivers "consistent grind" and is "very quiet" with "fluffy" grounds. While praised for its stepless adjustment and build quality, some reported jamming issues with oily beans, LED screen failures, and messy operation. The portafilter holder received criticism as "flimsy."

Great quality grinds, but the

Great quality grinds, but the ergonomics and usability design leaves much to be desired. It makes the biggest mess I’ve ever had to clean on a consistent basis. The good news it’s that there’s very active members in the 3d printing community that’s designing improvements like single dosing hoppers…. But, for the price, I shouldn’t have to do this.

Terrific Grinder, Great Look and Value

Purchased this in combo with a new Profitech Pro 600. After debating whether to get this model or the slightly less expensive Eureka Mignon I am so glad I opted for the Specialita. The timer function is invaluable - once you determine how long to grind the specific coffee to get the proper dosage (18 grams, for example) you can just grind away without weighing each and every shot. The micro adjustment of the grinder is amazing. And the modern, sleek styling and home appropriate size is perfect. Also, the machine is very quiet and quite heavy - it does not move around on the counter. The overall quality is superb.

Thanks for leaving a review, Mitchell! We are thrilled to know you're having a great time with your new setup. Let us know if you have any questions, and keep up posted on how your shots are tasting!

Better than ok, generally happy

All in all, I’m pretty impressed with this grinder. I’ve owned more expensive grinders, and find myself liking this one more… The fluffiness of the grounds is pretty phenomenal. The hopper and the lid are pretty cheap flimsy plastic, so that’s not amazing… The grinder is definitely less robust than many, but I would purchase it again.

Thanks to Clive for recommending

Thanks to Clive for recommending this grinder over the one I was going to purchase. Easy to use, looks great, and grinds consistently. Worth mentioning that I don’t waste as much coffee beans and their videos on how to use it is good. So take a look and don’t skimp when purchasing a grinder for espresso. You’ll end up wasting a lot beans if you do.

Excellent Grinder except for Hopper

I've been using the grinder for the past few months. It's wonderful to dial in a grind and quite easy to make fine adjustments for espresso. I've had issues with the grinder when attempting to adjust from an espresso grind to a course pour-over grind. The grinder jams up causing me to empty the beans. I thought that after watching the Clive overview video this would not be an issue but it is

I also have issue with the plastic clear bean holder. Even when it's tightened with the provided screw it seems rather flimsy and cheap considering the cost of the machine.

Hi there! We're sharing feedback with Eureka to see if we can improve the feel of these hoppers. And I'll also drop you an email to see if we can get your pour over grinding figured out.

Excellent espresso grinder

Looks gorgeous on the counter and makes a pleasant whirr as it grinds. Heavy and solidly built. The grounds make a tall peak in the portafilter, and I've found that it's best to move it around while the coffee dispenses, rather than using the hands-free filter holder. The resulting coffee has been smooth and consistent.

My one small criticism is that the hopper lid doesn't sit flat and the hopper seems a bit flimsy, especially given the solid build quality of the machine, but to be fair I haven't followed up with the store yet. I like being able to remove the hopper easily without affecting the grind settings.

The customer service in the store was efficient and very informative even though it was busy. They helped me find, I think, just the right grinder for our purposes.

Great But....

First of all, the guys from Clive are great, very helpful. This grinder works well but be aware. I use dark roasted coffees and the machine clogs constantly.

Couldn't be happier!

I purchased this as an upgrade from a Rancilio Rocky with a doser to this grinder. This grinder is so incredibly quiet, consistent and easy to adjust that it feels like an all around upgrade. I was prepared to spend significantly more to upgrade my grinder but the features on the Mignon Specialita won me over. The timed dosing and the ability to program for single or double pulls make switching portafilter baskets a breeze. The step-less dial to adjust the grind size is easy to use and I like that there is the ability to grind for a variety of options without too much trouble; however, I use this Mignon Specialita exclusively for espresso. I think the machine would be easy to dial-in at home but it was worth using Clive's dial-in service because you guys took customer service above and beyond. Again, I couldn't be happier and I appreciate the recommendations from everyone at Clive Coffee!

Great Grinder with a few Gripes

I'm so grateful to the team at Clive for guiding me through the choices that led me to the Specialita. On balance, I'm happy -- the machine combines good looks and high performance.

My gripes?

First, I have a 53MM portafilter basket and find that the coffee grounds do not empty directly into the basket, resulting in mess and hassle. There isn't a way to direct the grounds to avoid this. Fortunately, Clive informed me about the Mignon Grounds Bin -- so now I grind into that and distribute into the basket/s.

The other glitch is that the grinder isn't easy to switch from an espresso grind to a coarser pour-over grind with minimal effort. Since the machine is premium-priced for being digital, I would have thought that they would be able to automate different customized settings. Without this, I have to turn the coarseness knob "about" 1.5 times one way or the other (coarse/fine) and then twiddle to fine tune. This is a pain to do every day.

Retention

I am going to need to get a mod for this. There is a ton of retention. A ton. More than just "a little." When dosing I need to go up a gram from what I need to get close. When I am done with my morning routine I end up needing to tilt the machine a little and I get between 1.5-3.5 grams to come out. I end up dosing a little higher than I need to get it close. I'm not a professional. I am just starting out. I use the "wet spoon handle" technique and I use the "spritz" technique... no change in retention. Will need to get that mod with the bellow.

Design issue

Two years ago bought this very good little grinder.Never have had any issue with it.Just do its job faultlessly.
However two day before Christmas,in the middle of grinding it stopped like emergency break applied…
Opened the burr section, cleaned the built up coffee and started again.Worked about 3 seconds-stop.Clean-run-stop about 3-4 times, same result in setting 2 and setting 4.
Rang up the shop where i’ve bought it.They’re never heard anything like it before.Recomended an authorised service centre.
Yesterday opened up the burr again then took out the motor too, nothing. Then wanted to check the outlet shoot. That was totally filled up densly!! Crap!! Gently unblocked and cleaned up,not to damage the two tiny sensors.Assembled back together then tryed.Worked like day one.
If that shoot is more sharper angled it would not blocked easy.So now on I’ll keep on eye the shoot as well.
Thank you for reading this
Recomend this machine highly

Solid grinder with very consistent grind quality. It's quiet too. On the timed dosing, the resulting weight can be different depending on the amount of beans in the hopper.

We recently purchased the Profitec GO paired with the Eureka Specialita grinder, and we couldn’t be happier with the setup. This is our first espresso machine and grinder, and after getting everything dialed in, it has been incredibly easy to operate and enjoy on a daily basis.

Paired with the Specialita grinder, the whole setup feels premium, reliable, and very capable. Once you understand the basics and get the grind dialed in, making great espresso becomes a smooth and enjoyable process.

For anyone considering this machine and grinder combo, we definitely feel it is worth the money. It has exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

Keeps jamming - have to use it as a single dose

I had the Silenzio, which I recommend way more than this one. When I upgraded, I thought I was going to have a genuinely better version of a great grinder, but I have to use it as a single dose grinder cause it keeps jamming at the next grind if there are beans for more than one dose. Unjamming means that an entire shot is garbage as you have to make the grind super coarse and then dial back in. I really thought I could set the grind size and time and be more or less consistent. There are so many awesome single dose grinder like that I could have gotten if that’s what I wanted.

Great grinder, if it didn't regularly clog. . .

We have used 2 of these grinders on our coffee carts and although it does produce a consistent grind, it almost daily gets jammed and will not grind. It then requires a thorough cleaning by removing the hopper and vacuuming out the inside really well. The strange thing is it often doesn't look very dirty inside and happens almost daily, even with little use. This makes it a deal breaker regardless of how good it is when it works.

Unfortunate LED screen not working properly

We really loved this grinder initially, but after 7 months of use the LED screen stopped working properly. It sporadically responds to touch, I've tried rebooting the power, pressing double buttons as suggested and it's just crap.
This is not the cheapest grinder, it should last longer

Eureka is renowned for producing

Eureka is renowned for producing top-quality home grinders, with the Specialita model excelling in performance. This grinder operates with impressive speed, generating espresso grinds that are notably fluffy. The implementation of clump crushers by Eureka ensures that the grinds maintain an ideal consistency, thereby reducing the need for extensive distribution techniques to achieve optimal shot quality. One notable advantage of Eureka's grinders is their ease of cleaning. Unlike other grinders, Eureka's models consistently maintain their grind size post-cleaning, minimizing the need for recalibration. Although some minimal retention may occur post-cleaning, this typically dissipates after grinding a small quantity of coffee. The Specialita grinder features 55mm flat steel burrs, which are manufactured in Italy. This size is widely regarded as ideal for home use, as larger burrs may present alignment challenges. However, Eureka meticulously ensures the alignment of the burrs before distribution, mitigating potential issues associated with larger burr sizes. In summary, the Specialita grinder by Eureka is an excellent choice for home use, offering superior build quality and craftsmanship. While it may warrant a higher investment, its performance and durability make it a compelling option for espresso enthusiasts seeking a reliable and consistent grinding experience.
