Saint Anthony Industries BT Wedge Distribution Tool

I'm absolutely loving the wedge. I managed just fine for time without one but the difference in my extraction was immediately noticeable. Additionally I spend less time messing with my distribution and trying to get my tamp perfect and level. So I can pull shots faster and more repeatable than before. It's not cheap for a hunk of metal that spins some coffee but it is worth the price of admission, no doubt.

I'm not always looking for the most expensive. What I want is a nice feeling piece of hardware in the espresso process. Does it handle nicely? Does it adjust really well? Boy howdy, does this adjust.
Matching the look of my accessories is not critical, but if I can match the wood and quality (such in this case) with my other walnut items is a nice thing. Lastly, I am absolutely sure that the puck is level. The SAI wedge fits what I wanted perfectly. I'm happy with the look and feel of this product. It's not cheap, but then again it looks like an expensive piece of kit that fits my setup.

Just received a walnut highlighted St. Anthony’s Distribution Tool from Clive. Was going to get a WDT in pursuit of zero channeling and the perfect shot, but started looking at the two techniques. The WDT seemed to sing messy and the SADT echoed back simple and neat, so I went that way. Took several small adjustments to get my dose leveled just right. Shot was dead on for a great afternoon decaf latte. What will they think of next? If Clive carries it, I will be considering it. Going to probably go with the matching tamper as my wife does not like the spring loaded one that I use for consistency.

This has upped my consistency significantly, particularly on the bottomless portafilter. I use it in conjunction with a WDT and never have issues with channeling now.

I got the blue 58mm BT, my only issue is that for $150 I would expect the product to be new with no cosmetic issues, when I received it I got scratches on the surface and around the cylinder there where spots where paint was chipped away as if it was previously used or whoever does quality control at Clive didn't bother to check the product before shipping. It saddens me to pay $150 for a product that has less of an attention than to what other of my friends payed in other online stores and for the value they got. I contacted clive through chat as it seems that's their only form of communication and have gotten nothing. Love Clive as I bought stuff from them and gotten quality support but this really will make not consider it anymore, $150 is a lot of money for a used product.

This is a super solid tool. If feels great in hand. If you are looking for perfection which it truly delivers, buy the St. Anthony wedge as well as the companion tamp.

This was so worth it. It makes everything so easy. Just spin it and the coffee’s level and tight. I never have an issue with two streams coming down any more.

This thing is for real-not a gimmick. It gives you consistent results with no skill required. My error rate for tamping was immediately reduced to zero. Yes, it improved my coffee.

Wood accent is beautiful. Good sturdy weight and well made. Functions as it should.

Made of high quality materials. Gage numbers on the side are very helpful for dialing in depth. Does a great job leveling the coffee. Fun to use.

I purchased the walnut Edge from Clive in May 2020. Literally only a month later the adhesive holding the walnut to the tool lost its hold and the wood piece popped off (stored properly, no moisture or heat). I contacted clive who directed me to SA. They quickly took care of me and gave me the option of switching to a solid stainless top piece. The new piece was quickly shipped out. I have now been using it for a year and a half and love it.

In summary, the tool works great and SA customer service is top notch but I would not recommend the wooden top. Get the teflon or total stainless steel model.

Best addition to the espresso arsenal for an awesome shot of espresso. Solid stainless steel convex construction. Creates a great feel in the hand. Able to make slightly concave puck the same shot after shot. This tool makes tamping an overkill as the surface of the puck is very even plus less channeling because of the even pressure and the espresso starts pulling precisely at the same time as long as other variables like beans or grind settings remain the same. I am glad i bought this. I hope this tool stays solid for a foreseeable future.

The distribution tool is very sweet. After dialing it in, it is a wonderful daily ritual to prepare what I believe is a near perfect shot of espresso to start the day. It’s attractive, well-balanced and substantial to hold, but easy to manipulate. It does its job effortlessly. Love it.

Great tool for evening out the grounds in the portafilter.

Great tool wish it went a liiiiiiitle deeper if I wanted to avoid tamping. Could be cheaper but happy with it overall.
