Saint Anthony Industries Bloc Party

I personally was expecting a more quality build and attention to detail after watching the videos from Saint Anthony Industries about their products and the effort they put into their builds. Overall, I'm satisfied, but personally believe the price should be a minimum of $100 less. The biggest complaint i have is the cutouts for the tools are not deep enough. As you can see in the picture, the distributer/leveler sits crooked and the tamper doesn't sit flush with the bloc. Maybe it is my OCD? If those cutouts were deeper, the tools would sit flush and in my opinion, have a more professional quality appearance.

This tool is awesome. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is wanting to up their coffee game.

Quality manufacturing and good looks

I’m loving the Bloc party, it’s beautiful and it works really great! It was easy to dial in and making slight changes when needed is also really easy. The quality of my espresso has definitely been elevated with its help. The only reason I didn’t give it a five start review is because, like another reviewer mentioned, once the tamp is dialed in, it doesn’t sit flush in its place on the block. It sits up a little high now. It seems like carving out a little extra space in the block would be an easy fix. It doesn’t affect the quality, it’s purely aesthetic, but we all know we’re all about the looks.

I would give this a 5 star if the spot(s) where you park the tools, on the Bloc Party, were drilled about 1/2" deeper, so there was more of a flush look.

Anything from SAI is great quality. Only complaint is the tools don’t sit flush in the box after they’ve been adjusted for use.

The steel parts of the wedge and tamp are fine. The "wood" is a thin veneer that is glued on. On one of the two, the veneer has started to come off. I can fix it ultimately but seems cheaply put together. From a purely functional perspective, you could get a dual headed device made of steel and rubber for $40.

The tamping station itself is made of wood, however and looks pretty nice.

Overall - it works, but it is way overpriced and I feel cheated by the trace amount of wood on the tools.

Wonderfully made and dial in service made sure once received were ready for use. The box is heavy looks great in my little espresso bar. The tools themselves are extremely heavy and of the highest quality. Really glad i didn’t go with a cheaper alternative. For when you really want the best!

Beautiful tamping station that allows for clean organization of your distributor and tamper. My only call out would be that the puck reservoir is small and awkward to discard pucks into. Still, a solid alternative to having a knock box on your counter.

Expensive but worth it. Perfectly complements my Lelit Bianca in Walnut!
