Profitec RIDE Espresso Machine Overview

If you've been holding out for a compact, dual-boiler espresso machine that nails both form and function without feeling like a stepping stone to something better, the Profitec RIDE is precisely what you've been waiting for.
Profitec already had a great thing going with the beloved Pro 600: compact, powerful, and easy to live with, and brought the café experience home. The RIDE picks up where the Pro 600 left off, keeping the same trusted internals while refining the design, trimming the footprint, and adding a few thoughtful features that bring it squarely into the modern home espresso era. We love the modern era. In the not-so-distant past, home espresso machines used to be featureless, and you had to pay quite the premium for things like flow control or use aftermarket products to mod your machines. The RIDE perfectly encapsulates home baristas' influence on making products better. Profitec, smartly, not only listened but delivered.
Clive Coffee Exclusive Design

Let’s address what we’re most excited about straightaway. We worked with Profitec to create an exclusive matte black edition of the RIDE, featuring blacked-out panels and matching gauges, paired with walnut accents throughout—including Profitec’s signature knobs and a beautiful bottomless modular portafilter. (If you prefer spouted shots, the portafilter can be fitted with included single or double silicone spouts.) While the standard RIDE is great, you'll only find the matte black finish at Clive—murdered out in all its glory.
Specs Rundown

The RIDE is a dual-boiler espresso machine with an E61 group head and stainless steel brew and steam boilers (0.75L and 1L, respectively). Also, familiar is the PID temperature control with an integrated shot timer, but the updated PID has several additional programmable features:
- Programmable active and passive pre-infusion: This feature is huge, even outside its obvious convenience. Program the time for active water distribution throughout the puck, and then a pause for saturation before the pump kicks back on and applies full pressure. Set it and forget it, or change it up with each coffee you use.
-
Fast heat-up mode: If you're desperate for an espresso in the morning and you're booting the machine up from a cold start, the RIDE is ready to pull a shot extremely fast for such a large E61 machine. It also features simultaneous boiler heating: the RIDE can heat both boilers simultaneously, making it cappuccino-ready within 10 minutes. Most 110V/15amp dual-boilers like the RIDE simply don't have this ability.
- Auto on/off scheduling: Want to wake up with your RIDE already heated and waiting? Set it and forget it. Within the PID, you can set a daily on/off schedule. Easy as pie.
In terms of design, the RIDE leans into a welcome and refined simplicity. It drops the clunky PID interface of its predecessor in favor of a low-profile OLED display. The thoughtful touches extend to the overall user experience like responsive, quick-steam and hot-water joystick valves, an insulated no-burn steam wand, and a quiet, tactile power button with an attractive green glow.
Who is the Ride For?

The RIDE is for both the espresso beginner and the seasoned veteran. Despite its compact footprint and minimalist look, the RIDE doesn’t hold back on performance. It delivers robust steam, heating 6oz of milk to 140°F in under 20 seconds. The programmable preinfusion allows for both active and passive stages to be customized per shot, and if you ever want to add a flow control device, our LUCCA E61 Flow Control device will be installed for you at the point of purchase, or you can install it DIY at later point if you're on the fence.
The RIDE is a machine that doesn’t leave you wanting more. It’s powerful enough for prosumer-level performance, small enough for everyday kitchens, and refined enough to feel right at home on a well-curated counter. If you’ve been waiting for a dual boiler machine that looks as good as it performs, and doesn’t ask you to compromise, the Profitec RIDE just ended your search.
