The Caffewerks replacement gasket for E61 group head espresso machines is made from odorless and tasteless food-grade silicone. Silicone gaskets are known to last much longer than rubber gaskets before needing to be replaced, as well as not recreating the odor that rubber gaskets can produce over time. The 8mm gasket is thinner than the 8.5mm gasket, creating a seal sooner than stock rubber group gaskets and engaging more smoothly when tightening the portafilter into place.

We strongly recommend the use of Molykote Dow-111 Food-Safe Lubricant to install your group head gasket.

Compatible with most E61 group head machines, including Brasilia, Bezzera, Expo Bar, ECM, Faema, Gaggia/Gaggia Classic, Isomac, IZZO, Lelit, Orchestrale, Profitec, Rocket, San Remo, Quickmill, Synesso.

A silicone replacement gasket for E61 espresso machines. Most customers praised it for eliminating leaks and being cleaner than rubber gaskets with "no more black gunk." Reviewers appreciated the easier portafilter insertion/removal. However, compatibility issues exist—it's incompatible with some machines like the Lucca M58, causing leaks. Some noted an extremely tight fit initially.

  • No gunk, more supple seal, lasts seemingly forever. Most bang for your buck upgrade.
  • Fit great and worked like a charm with no cussing required.
  • Easy fix for leaks. Should have done it long time ago.

Not compatible with Lucca M58

If you have the Quick Mill Lucca M58 that Clive sells, this silicone gasket will not work. It's a super tight fit and if you are able to get it in, it will leak and sometimes cause the portafilter to dislodge while pulling a shot. Super disappointing as it's sold as a "premium" option, but the OEM rubber gasket is much better.

I bought this because the black rubber gasket that came as part of the E61 Group Head Maintenance Kit wouldn't fit in my Profitec Pro 700 for some reason (the one I bought the previous year fit fine, so maybe something changed since 2024?). This silicone gasket fit great, and worked like a charm with no cussing required. I would've saved 2 hours of struggle and a lot of frustration if I had just bought this one when it was time to do my annual maintenance.

Works as advertised on my

Works as advertised on my ECM Classika (used on a daily basis). Couple of notes: 1. Thia is my second purchase of the very same gasket (the first one in Apr 2021 also from Clive) 2 The former worked fine, with absolutely no leaks. Decided to replace it after the most recent removal of the dispersion screen was much, much harder than usual. (Noticed that the entire vertical area of the gasket has become sticky, as if glue was applied to it.)

No more black gunk!

If you remove, clean and replace your gasket and shower screen frequently, as I do, you’ve noticed by now that the old fashioned black rubber gasket leaves black gunk on your hands and on everything else it touches. The rubber also hardens and eventually cracks, leaving you with leaks around the portafilter.

These silicone gaskets are clean; no gunk. They’re more supple and seal without the need to cinch down hard on the portafilter. And they last seemingly forever.

This will be the most bang for your buck you’ll ever get for an upgrade for your E61 machine.

This is an excellent gasket.

This is an excellent gasket. I have an E61 group head and got the thicker blue gasket originally, which was a mistake. The blue one is way too thick and your portafilter will only turn maybe halfway to the perpendicular point you are probably used to. Learn from my mistake and get this red gasket for your e61 group head. It’s perfect and feels great every time you insert/remove your portafiler.
