Need to Know

The Baratza Virtuoso+ is a conical burr grinder built for the home coffee brewer who refuses to compromise on consistency. With 40mm steel burrs, a digital timer, and 40 stepped adjustment settings, this is the grinder that turns a good pour over into a great one — and makes it repeatable every single morning.

Baratza designed the Virtuoso+ for drip, pour over, French press, and cold brew. The conical burr set delivers uniform particle distribution across a wide range of grind sizes, which means better extraction and cleaner cups. The digital timer lets you program your dose down to the tenth of a second, so you're not eyeballing scoops or doing morning math. Dial it in once, and it's locked in for good.

Key Features

  • 40mm conical steel burrs — Built for years of daily grinding
  • Digital grind timer — Program your dose and hit a button. No scales, no guessing, no waste.
  • 40 stepped grind settings — From cold brew coarse to Aeropress fine, with clear clicks between each adjustment
  • Easy burr access — Remove the hopper and lift out the top burr for cleaning in under two minutes
  • 8 oz bean hopper — Enough capacity for a week of solo brewing or a weekend of guests
  • Grounds bin with lid — 5 oz capacity, fits directly under the grinder or can be removed for portioning

Ideal For

This grinder is for the home brewer who's moved past pre-ground coffee and wants consistency without complexity. If you make pour-over most mornings, French press on weekends, and the occasional batch of cold brew, the Virtuoso+ handles all of it without requiring a PhD in grind theory. It's also ideal for households where multiple people brew different ways — program a few timer presets, and everyone gets their preferred dose at the touch of a button.

Not ideal for espresso. The Virtuoso+ can technically grind fine enough, but it's not designed for the micro-adjustments espresso demands. If you're pulling shots, look at Baratza's Sette or Vario lines instead. For everything else — drip, pour over, French press, Aeropress, cold brew — this is the last grinder you'll need to buy.

Quality grinder

Great consistent grinds with very minimal fines. Very sturdy build quality. Not loud at all compared to the “cheap” grinders I’ve had before this. You get what you pay for.

nice window

Also, lighting in the hopper is really nice to see if beans have all run through. Although, jamming is never a problem with this machine. I use lighting while adjusting times. It's easy to operate. I use it for Chemex or for a fine pour over. As for espresso, I don't have an opinion since I don't have a decent machine. I can say that Baratza will take care of you with good customer service.

A good grinder for home

A good grinder for home use but wished it had just a little something to grab onto to remove the lid from the hoper, otherwise great grinder.

This is an amazing grinder.

This is an amazing grinder. I've only ever used pretty cheap ones with the spinning blade at home. This is such a step up from that, it makes a world of difference. I started out grinding pretty fine for my pour over, but I moved on to cold brew and now grind much more coarse coffee. It works great at both ends and is really easy to adjust. Very happy with this.

A gift for my husband.

A gift for my husband. Does not take up very much counter space. Still a bit loud but it's a grinder. My husband thinks his coffee tastes better and that he gets a better grind, can't ask for more than that! He is very particular about anything coffee related.

This is my second Virtuoso;

This is my second Virtuoso; I used the first 1-2 times a day for several years (6-7). The first stripped a plastic gear which I replaced and had trouble with static electricity making grounds float all over the counter which I cured by grinding the night before. It finally had to be replaced when the motor broke free from the plastic frame, but I kept the old one for parts. The new Virtuoso is loud, but the grinds are consistent and the static electricity issue is vastly diminished; I don’t know how they did it. I have used it for drip, French press and pour over, but haven’t tried to grind finely for espresso. I buy that as ground coffee. The new machine has a light and timer so you can have precise volumes of ground coffee each morning and view them in the receptacle. The parts support and repair video was outstanding when I had to fix my original.

French press

I’m a coffee snob...I drink it black to taste the beans. I’ve been using my cheap whirl it method for years. This grinder is so convenient and grinds the beans perfectly for how I prepare my coffe in a French press. I increased the grind level a bit to find what suited my taste. So happy I finally converted.

Very happy

We are very happy we splurged and bought this coffee grinder. We had another brand that quit after 2 months so decided to upgrade. Love the quality of both the machine and the grind. Recommend highly!
