I have been making pour over with a Chemex since college--way too many years ago. And have broken at least 2 pots. Very careful now with the hand blown Chemex which my wife found at a 2nd hand shop here in Portland a number of years ago. Wife thinks I am totally crazed when I make the first pour and watch the coffee "bloom". Also sent a box of filters to my son in Pittsburgh who found a Chemex pot on Bay. Funny, I found a short piece [Gourmet June 2008 and now residing in our recipe binder] about Dr. Peter Schlumbohm aka Dr. Chemex in which there is a mention of a quote from the inventor stating "with the Chemex, even a moron can make good coffee".
