Eureka Mignon Libra Espresso Grinder

This is a big step up from our Baratza Encore.
One gripe...I got a larger grind adjustment knob, and while trying to install it, ended up having to disassemble the grinder to get the rod thing threaded again. Eureka should have a better design for that part of the grinder.

Great machine. So far its met my expectations. The only gripe i had, was that the grinder isn’t calibrated from the factory. Unless i missed that information in the instructions that it needs to calibrated out of the box. Regardless im very happy with my grinder. I would recommend this product!

We love it! The consistency and ease is a game changer in our morning coffee routine.

Well this came broken out of the box. The LED screen has missing segments so we can't really tell whether we are dialed into say 18 g or 10 g. Also it's tricky to run in continuous or manual grind mode or maybe just not intuitive. It took us a really long time and call into Clive to figure out how to set the unit to zero and get the burrs to touch before using it our first time. Huge disappointment though receiving a broken grinder right out of the box.

I love the Eureka Mignon Libra grinder. It is consistent and very accurate. I love that it removes the step of weighing my beans on a separate scale. To note, I do spot check the weigh by grind function occasionally to ensure its accuracy and it has been spot on every time. Additionally, I can not say enough great things about Clive Coffe. Their entire team is wonderful. They are very knowledgeable about all the items that they sale and incredibly responsive when I have any questions. I live in Texas and they make you feel like they are down the street instead of accross the country with how fast and efficient they are with their custom support. I will only use them for all my espresso needs.

It's a good grinder and produces accurate grind by weight performance. Unfortunately, the grind size adjustment knob is far too sensitive making it difficult to adjust (without over or under shooting) the desired grind size. This is time consuming and wasteful. each time I start a new bag of beans, I have to go thru this dialing in process, due to the slight variances of roast and coffee age. I have two Eureka Mignon Specialita's and two Mignon Libra Espresso Grinders. They all suffer from this same problem. In the past, I have purchased three aftermarket grind adjustment solutions which are made specifically for the Eureka grinders due to this known problem. It is available for $31. 99 before tax and shipping on Amazon under the description: ARO Espresso™ Aluminum Grinder Setting Dial for Eureka. I have now just ordered another unit for my fourth grinder from Eureka. Hopefully you or your engineering staff can sort out this problem, particularly when the grinders are already very expensive. 530. 526. 6595 Thank You

The Eureka Mignon Libra is an absolute game changer! It is by far the quietest grinder I have ever used. In is easy to dial in, makes great fluffy, consistent grounds. Though it’s expensive it’s worth what you pay. It is a quality piece of equipment. My only complaint is the logo on the grind control knob is not centered and is quite irksome. It’s like buying a Ferrari or Lamborghini or other fine Italian sports car and having the hood badge off center by an inch or two. You notice it every time you go to drive it, or even when you just walk by. It doesn’t affect the performance, just reminds you it’s not “the perfect” grinder they claim it to be.

Fantastic grinder. Great fluffy grounds. Has a nice smooth taste with clarity. So much better than using time to grind. Makes workflow so much faster.

Amazing grinder

I was disappointed to discover that the word Libra is nothing more than a stuck on logo. While wiping down my grinder I noticed that the L was missing. Now I have to remove the remaining letters otherwise it will really look stupid.
I expected more from a $799 grinder that I have only had a few months.

Definitely worth every penny.

Amazing device. Make the workflow so much easier, and the grind is near perfect. Very precise movement, so be careful when making adjustments. Also, make sure to use their funnel, else you will need to tare every time.

The Mignon Libra is working great, just as advertised. Been using it for about three weeks now. Dialed in very easily on day one, the knob makes it easy. Just works, place porta filter/dosing funnel on holder, hit button, get exact amount every time. It's wonderful.

Perfect espresso every time

This is my first higher end coffee grinder. I love the sleek design and ease of use. Though using dosing funnel is highly recommended. Like another review mentioned, the porta filter fork area can be easily scratched. Overall, I like using grind weight than time.

This grinder is replacing a Mazzer Super Jolly grinder that I have had for over 10 years. It's gone through modifications to make it a single dose grinder but what it remains is VERY LOUD!
When I saw the Libra for the first time, the idea of a super quiet grinder that was also a grind by weight grinder was all I needed to know.
The grinder was very easy to set up and it was dialed in for my espresso machine in a matter of 2 attempts. Going from single dosing for the past 2 years to a grind by weight grinder is a giant leap of both streaming my workflow and technology (not waking my wife up with the sound of coffee grinding) In fact, the first morning I used the grinder, my wife slept through the entire process. That was never the case with the Mazzer Super Jolly.
The only 2 very minor complaints I have with the grinder are in the materials used in the construction. The hopper lid has a dimple right in the middle from injection molding. The lid being made of clear plastic, that dimple is very noticable. A black plastic lid, dimple free would look so much better and more in line with the overall high quality look of the grinder.
Second, the aluminum parts used behind the portafilter fork are very soft, and scratched easily from the dosing funnel rubbing against it. Once I saw the scratches I of course modified how I inserted the portafilter into the fork.
The grinder makes beautiful fluffy grounds and, once recalibrated, doses out consistent, accurate weights.
Bottom line, it looks great, is extremely quiet and does what it's designed to do efficiently. Now to look for a replacement lid cause this one is driving me crazy. LoL.

Well, I am a sucker for new technology, so when I saw the chance to preorder a Libra, I jumped. Clive must have known the shipment was a day away, because I had mine in a week! I am replacing a five year old Eureka Zenith, so it is not like I was replacing a dinosaur. In fact, this could be a recommendation for the Zenith as it is almost perfect. It just takes a bit to adjust both time and grind to get the right fineness for 18gm to yield 2oz of espresso at 23 seconds. It is a little messy too.

I was looking for just two things. One, something a little neater so I am wasting less ground coffee which has become like gold dust and, two something even easier to dial in when switching beans, even though I haven’t done this in over a year. Short and sweet. Out of the box, the footprint is neater(smaller). Fit and finish is as expected from Eureka. This thing is so quiet it is really surprising. Still getting the dial down for my Illy beans, but getting very close after just a few cups. Out of the box it is off by 0.4 gm when shooting for 18 gm. No biggie, seems easiest to just increase by that much although there are directions for recalibrating. I will see if that does it. I am in the process of getting the grind fine enough not to over shoot on coffee volume and am almost there. The only other issue is that it will not grind unless the porta filter and shoot are not properly placed in the holder to prevent spillage. It took me a minute to get it to grind the first time as if you let the porta filter sit in the holder more than ten seconds it goes to sleep. I was looking for another button to press until I read the dir…….no, I would never do that.

In summary, I highly recommend this grinder. It Will especially thrill those who don’t wish to. Spend time and a good many beans getting the grind/time combinations down just right.
