Need to Know

The Eureka Zenith 65 Neo is a crossover grinder that refuses to compromise: true commercial-grade build quality, 65mm flat-steel burrs, and the kind of speed that makes dialing in multiple coffees a pleasure rather than a chore. It grinds a 20-gram dose in about five seconds, which means less retention, fresher grounds, and the ability to switch between beans without yesterday's espresso haunting today's cup. This is the grinder for home baristas who want cafe results without the cafe footprint, and for small commercial operations that need reliability under pressure.

Key Features

  • 65mm flat steel burrs — Commercial-grade cutting surfaces that deliver clarity and sweetness across the full range of espresso roasts
  • Digital timed dosing — Program two dose presets and replicate them shot after shot with push-button consistency
  • Stepless micrometric adjustment — Infinite grind settings with a front-mounted dial that makes dialing in intuitive and precise
  • Hands-free portafilter fork — Lock your portafilter in place and let the grinder do the work while you prep your next move
  • Clean without losing calibration — Eureka's Silent Technology system lets you remove the burrs for deep cleaning and snap them back in without re-zeroing
  • High-speed motor — Grinds fast enough for commercial use, quiet enough for home kitchens
  • Low retention design — Minimal coffee left in the chute means what you grind is what you dose

Ideal For

Small cafes and coffee stands that need a workhorse grinder with the speed to handle morning rush and the precision to keep extractions dialed across multiple drinks. The Zenith is built for commercial durability but priced for businesses that need performance without the four-figure capital outlay.

An amazing grinder. It takes a bit of time to dial in but once you got it going, man it makes a smooth espresso.

This machine is engineered far beyond my capabilities, so it’s taking me some time to get the dosing correct. I think I’m close to the right consistency and amount.

Has Made My Workflow a Breeze

I own a small coffee trailer, and this grinder has truly made my workflow so much quicker and more efficient. The timer function is easy to use and calibrate, and my shots pull much more consistently. It's super lightweight but durable, which is perfect for a mobile trailer where I have limited storage space and am constantly on the move. It has truly stepped up my game and Paul was super communicative and helpful.

Fantastic Machine

Fantastic machine for espresso. Easy to adjust, easy to clean, seems very well made. While I love this machine for espresso it does not grind well for all brewing methods so keep that in mind.

all I need (long review: grab an espresso)

I struggled a lot before splurging my dough for this machine. I just make espresso for myself and my family/friends and this machine seemed an overkill at first. Before I had an old step grinder, old? make it ancient: nearly 20 yo! It was driving me crazy: one step was too coarse, a step up was way too fine. I also reached out to Clive costumer support for suggestions (thank you guys!) and they suggested another Eureka model and a cheaper one! After a lot of research online, I came to the conclusion that Eureka was the make I was going to purchase for the numerous positive reviews I have seen on the web. One reason why I chose this machine is that I am not a fan of digital and touch screens, I prefer to limit their intrusion. There is some here, but the selection of operating modes occurs via push buttons! Love it! Another reason is esthetics: this Eureka reminds me of an Italian scooter, don't ask me why; others instead reminded me of a Borg cube. If I have to have something sitting permanently on my counter-top, it had to look nice. I was concerned a bit with it height and it just fit snuggly under the cabinets: I have to take it out to fill the hopper, but it is not a big deal. Performance: thanks to Clive videos I was able to narrow down the sweet spot for me, although it took some fiddling for a few days. The consistency of the ground coffee is amazing. Is everything perfect? No, but those are small things that don't affect my rating. I don't like the potential mess left on my counter when ground coffee spills over. But once I dialed in the machine, the mess is very much reduced. Still some grounds are bouncing off from the portafilter and find their way on my counter-top. The portafilter holder needs adjustments every time I change from the bottomless to the spouted portafilter. This is a bit annoying because it requires a handy screwdriver, but if you use only one portafilter then this is not an issue. Other than that I totally love this grinder so far. BTW: it pairs with La spaziale - Lucca, also acquired from Clive.

Great grinder, pay attention to the level of the beans in the hopper

This is a really great grinder, I like the fine adjustments that i can dial in, but what i most appreciated was the fact that i can take it apart to clean it without disrupting the grind setting. This allows me to go back to my exact grind setting after cleaning it without having to waste a bunch of beans dialing it in again. I also liked that there are 2 settings on there one for a single shot and another for a double. I use the double shot as my normal setting then put the single shot to the smallest time setting (0.20 seconds). If i grind out a shot and its a little short then i just switch it to the single shot to grind just a little more to fill it out.

The only drawback i can find is that with the short hopper for home use, there is a small amount of beans in the hopper so the shot can vary up to a gram if the hopper is full to when its less full. So always try to keep the hopper full or above 3/4 full to achieve the same amount in your shots. The weight of the beans in a full hopper helps push the beans into the burrs. When its less full it pulls it down and leaves a void in the hopper, if you're coming to the end of your bag of beans or using up the hopper to clean it, manually shake the beans around with your fingers to push the beans down to fill the voids so that you'll get a more consistent shot. I think it would be remedied with the full size hopper but then it probably wouldn't fit under your cabinet or the beans would dry out faster because you couldn't use the beans fast enough in a home setting. This is probably an issue with all short hoppers, regardless of the grinder, its what you have to give up to have them fit under your cabinet.

Over all a Great Grinder highly recommended.

Machine is great but not

Machine is great but not getting any benefits for buying over $3500.00 worth of coffee/espresso equipment really tells me something.

Awesome Grinder

First off Clive's customer service is phenomenal. Second this grinder is awesome. I can only compare it to the Atom and have to say for the extra $100 it's worth it. The Atom was great for it's quietness and smaller foot print but the Zenith in my opinion has better performance.

It Matters

I got the Zenith 65E in January 2018 so I've been using it for a year and a half now. I gave it 4 stars back then because I hadn't time-tested it. After 18 months I can say I'm still delighted with the grinder.
The 65E grinder made a significant improvement to my shots.
I go to the trouble of roasting my own beans because I could accept that it would make a difference. But, honestly, before I bought this grinder I couldn't accept that a $1,000 grinder would make a $1,000 difference. I thought high end grinders were more of an esthetic statement and a show of conspicuous consumerism. I was wrong. The grinder makes a BIG difference.

I haven't owned multiple grinders in this price range so I can't recommend you buy this specific grinder over all the others. But I WILL say that if you're using a pro-sumer double boiler machine and you're using fresh high-quality beans (or better yet, roasting your own) you need a suitable grinder to get the most out of your espresso.
Don't be hard headed and drag your feet like I did. Get a good grinder.

When I was ready to make the leap of faith I talked with the folks at Clive. The Zenith 65E was what they recommended for me. It was a good call. Maybe this specific grinder is not the ultimate choice for you.......but get a good grinder. It not (just) snob appeal. It matters.

New Favorite Grinder

Looking for an affordable grinder for small volume? This is the one! We have been blown away by the consistency of the Zenith 65E. It is one of the most silent grinders I have worked with. The grind itself is consistent and the programming is easy. Fine tuning it through the day is also a breeze with the easy to understand micro adjuster. We use this grinder for a small cafe and a portable espresso rig. We will be outfitting our future rigs with this thing!

I cannot give enough praise for the Clive Coffee team. Their customer service is the greatest in the industry. Every thing I have needed from them has been returned with guides and videos to make repairs and training a breeze.

We love you too Josh! :heart_eyes_cat:

Nice improvement over Rocky

Was really on the fence about this grinder - there's strong competition from Ceado at about the same price with the same no loss of calibration feature. If you have ever cleaned a grinder similar to the Rocky, you know getting your calibration back is a "fussy" process - especially if you are trying to get the dial numbers close to where they were before starting.
The free dial in service at Clive (when you buy a grinder and espresso machine at the same time) tipped me over to giving it a try, so I got it along with a Pro 500. Very happy with the performance. Fluffy consistent powder, 5 second grind time (compared to about 20 - 25 seconds for the Rocky), and greatly improved flavor. I was very skeptical about a grinder making such a difference, so I even tried the grinder with my Gaggia Classic to see if it really did make a difference. It did.
I used to single dose, weighing the beans, before grinding with the Rocky. The Zenith is so consistent, I don't worry about weighing in beans. I just put enough in for each session and let the timed grind take care of the rest. I wouldn't recommend "storing" your beans in the hopper though - use a proper container for that. There's a little "gate" that closes the bottom of the hopper, so pouring out excess beans is easy.
The Zenith is quite a bit taller than the rocky, so it might be something to consider if you are putting it on your counter. Other than that - highly recommended.
If you read my Pro 500 review, you will see that I am very happy with the buying experience and service Clive provides. I highly recommend these folks.

Awesome grinder

I have used a Baratza Vario, Eureka Atom, and finally in my office we upgraded to the Zenith. This thing has been a workhorse and great from day 1. We have used it in our office for about 2 months now, doing about 20 espressos a day, and it hasn't missed a beat. It's (relatively) quiet, super powerful, and the grinds are awesome just out of the grinder. Once I got the grinds dialed in, which was pretty easy, we haven't needed to tweak the grind adjustment by more than a millimeter or two. Clive was awesome in their help getting us this grinder and putting together a whole espresso system for the office.

The only problem is that now I prefer drinking espresso in the office to drinking it at home...

Eureka Zenith, a real step up

Thought I had stepped up a couple of years ago with a Bararza Sette 270, but between the safety kill switch having to be bypassed(by me) and then the motor starting to stick(having to take the cover off at 0545 in the morning for drive to work cup not good) I decided to take a real step up. Comments here and a quick talk with the folks had me a new Zenith overnighted so I had it the morning of my daughter’s rehersal dinner. No way I could make it thru my first child’s wedding without properly ground beans!

Took about four or five cups to get close on 18 or 19 gm ground yielding close to 2 oz for a doubleshot. Much quieter than the less robust grinder. From here I can only see tinkering with minute adjustments just for fun.

2 Big Thumbs up for grinder and Clive Coffee

Don't know how much bandwidth I get for a review, so 1st want to rave about the Customer Service and patient time I got from everyone at Clive Coffee, from the owner to all the salespeople and even the tech guys with the specialty wrenches in the back. In the past, I've purchased from Chris Coffee (world class CS), Seattle (good), Wholelatte (good), and some others (just ok). I'd put Clive Coffee without question into the World Class customer service category. I'll even go as far to say that Clive Coffee treated me even better than what I've experienced in the past from Chris Coffee, and that's saying something! In addition to buying this grinder, I had my Alex Duetto II serviced and in almost like new condition for $165--plus I bought some other toys. These guys and gals are class acts from start to finish.

Now the grinder. Upgraded from a 10 year old Rocky doserless still working fine. The Eureka Zenith rocks, and I have zero regrets over the coin I dropped or the other possible grinders I didn't choose. I went with white, and it looks great on my counter next to my stainless E-61 machine. Paint job is first rate with a quality even thick coat I suspect will outlive the grinder. A commercial grade paint job thicker and better than you'd find on a Kitchenaid mixer. The entire case is metal, it's solid and heavy, even the front control panel area. The grinder with hopper is 17" tall, and will slide under my 17.5" counters. The measurements online give some leeway.

Learning curve to figure out how to switch between timed and manual grind and dial in the burrs was a couple of days (I'm slow), but I always got lightning fast emails and even a quick call back from Clive Coffee on every single boneheaded question I had (and I had more than one). Initial setup was a breeze, even for me.

Grind and shot quality is superb. Fluffy even grinds that always require a gentle portafilter tap (on the cool mat I also got) to get them to settle for tamping. Never had that with the Rocky grind. Stepless grind adjusting knob is smooth and solid, making minuscule adjustments simple. The timer is intuitive and very easy use and adjust. I got a scale and timer thrown in, and it's made weighing and timing my shots easy peasy. 5.05 seconds and I'm getting 17.8-18.1 grams of a medium roast bean every time. If I get a bit anal and want a perfectly exact weight, I'll lower the time, weigh, and then manually dose a bit more.

The grind light is cool and useful, as is the adjustable chute. The adjustable portafilter holder is also great, and holds my portafilter level and securely. I just push it into the grind button and let go (hands free to do all the other stuff we need to do and grab as we whip up our liquid day starter).

I'm extremely impressed with the Eureka Zenith 65E, and very very glad I bought it. For this price point, I don't think there's another grinder in its class. I'm even more impressed with the shopping, buying, setup, and overall stellar customer service I got from EVERYONE at Clive Coffee.

Beautiful Grinder with small issues.

I am a home barista who makes a couple of flat white/cappuccinos a day and who was looking for something that would do single dosing well. First off I want to say Clive customer service is fantastic and were great responding to my questions.

Beofre purchasing the Zenith I originally purchased the Eureka Atom, as I read great reviews and loved the look. Upon receiving and testing it didn't work great for single dosing at all, the auger in the chute that pulls the beans down really likes a lot of beans in the hopper to provide enough downward force to feed the burrs. Not ideal for what I was looking for.

After some back and forth I settled on upgrading the the Zenith. It's been a great grinder, imo not quite as attractive as the atom (or as quiet) but great nonetheless. My only real qualm is that it tends to retain quite a bit of grinds in the burrs/chute, up to 10+grams. Given that I'm using this for single dosing that adds up to quite a bit of wasted coffee over time. I'm not sure if it's a function of the grinder or just this class of grinder in general. I vacuum out the burrs and use a wooden chopstick to free all of the grinds out of the dispensing chute after every use, which ends up being quite a bit. Other than that I love the espressos I make with it, adjusting the grind setting couldn't be easier, and tweaking to dial in a coffee is fast.

Zenith 65e is amazing

This grinder is unbelievable. After three adjustments, I was making beautifully syrupy espresso. Fast grinds, non clumped, ultra consistent uniformity. Get a scale, ridgeless VST basket and a big step Pullman tamper to perfect your shots.
