Channeling often occurs around the sides of the portafilter, which is a common complaint we hear about with average-sized tampers. The Pullman Big Step tamper utilizes the broadest size possible for edge-to-edge tamping to eliminate the chance of channeling. Made of high-quality stainless steel, the Big Step base is built for a busy café. However, It still does need to be handled with care to protect the rim of the base from damage. We recommend storing your tamper on a soft tamping mat in between use. Each Big Step tamper includes one spacer to personalize your tamper's height to fit your palm just right.
