Custom wood panels praised for their beauty and quality craftsmanship. Customers said they add warmth and enhance aesthetics. Most found they "fit better than the original chrome." These walnut wood panels, custom made for the Synchronika in Portland are a beautiful addition to the machine, and my kitchen. The new looks add some warmth to the sharp but industrial design of the ECM. The drip tray does cause some scratching/etching of the wood panels, but they're only visible when you remove the tray and look for them. I added the wood handles on the joysticks and got the walnut-handled portafilter which makes for a unique espresso maker.

I've been a Clive Customer for many years. I own the ECM Synchronika, and recently bought the walnut wood panels.
First, the wood panels were sent with no hardware, and no instructions. Once the warehouse sent the hardware, I was then asked to go to the store to buy super glue, as the panels were supposed to be assembled prior to shipping.
I did so, and super-glued the hardware to the wood panels and re-assembled the machine. To my disappointment, I realized that the wrong hardware had been sent - leaving a very noticeable quarter inch gap. Since I was asked to modify these panels myself and now no longer returnable, I am left with a machine that looks worse than before.
If you want the wood panels - buy from another company.

I didnt buy the panels when I purchased my machine - it seemed an unnecessary expense. After adding the panels, I am surprised about how the new aesthetics add greatly to our kitchen and coffee experience. Well worth the money!
Beautiful
Panels looked awesome but didn’t quite fit without making an annoying rattle when the pump was engaged. I adjusted and readjusted the panels multiple times. Clive tech support worked with me to get them to fit to no avail. No fault of Clive, but there was a tolerance issue in the manufacturing of the panels. They refunded my purchase and I have zero complaints. Clive is an awesome company to do business with and they stand behind their products.
