La Spaziale Vacuum Breaker

Works as expected. No issues installing.

I'm giving it a 4 star rating because it works. This is the 3rd time replacing the vacuum breaker on my Profitec Pro500. I replace it whenever the vacuum breaker stops sealing and allows steam to escape. I bought this after consulting with Clive. Apparently the older Profitec's used this item. After replacing it the first time with this item. After about 3 years of use the C-clip that retains the valve/piston rusted away the valve/piston fell into the boiler. I replaced it with the same unit and like clockwork I needed to replace the unit after 3 years, but this time I replaced it before the C-clip completely rusted through. Upon removal of the old vacuum breaker the C-clip failed but fortunately the valve/piston did not fall into my boiler again. This time around I bought 2. I expect to change this out again in 3 years.

This vacuum breaker is weak! I had a HX machine for 12 years and never replaced one. This machine is 1 1/2 years old. The problem is the c-clip is tiny and weak. That is what breaks. I had to buy 3 just to keeps this Great Machine going. (Lucca A53 Mini). The stainless plug just falls in the boiler. I guess it will hold many of them?

I was not aware The vacuum breaker was spewing water and cause the frame to start rusting until I noticed water on top of cup tray.
I ordered a replacement and it is back to spewing out a minimum amount of water. I sent the cup in with the defective vacuum breaker, thinking a new one would come with the replacement vacuum breaker, but I was wrong. So now there is nothing to catch the water and it is running down the inside of the machine.
A machine repair person said it is a poor design the way La Spaziale designed how the vacuum breaker works. I can’t comment on that statement because this is the only pro-sumer level machine I have owned.
Overall , not a bad machine, but I did have 7 repairs in the first 6 months. Since then it has worked the way it is supposed to.

Works as intended!

A useful piece when it's needed. Shipping was fast and the part that arrived pretty much matched the original from the machine, just new of course. When installing, be sure to triple wrap + with teflon (plumber's) tape, and you may have to do it a couple of time before it fully seals in the boiler. The boiler top plate only has a few threads to seal with, so it's a bit of seating, turning on the boiler and watching for any bubbles/hissing from the sides of the breaker, then re-taping and sealing if it isn't fully seated.
