Excellent Pour Over!

I typically don't need or want more than 2 cups of coffee at any one time, so after doing some research, I decided to purchase the Stagg XF pour over. I have been enjoying it for just over a month now and am VERY glad I made this purchase. Being an engineer by training, I appreciate the functional design that went into this unit. Because of the thoughtfulness of the design, with pieces performing specific functions, the markings to indicate amount of coffee and water... it really makes it a consistent ritual that is genuinely relaxing and allows me to think at the start of my day. And the quality of the cup of coffee it produces matches the well thought out design. I also appreciate that! ;-) I do have a couple things I wish were just a bit better (but these are not things to deduct from it's top score). 1 - I wish the "dots" were a bit more pronounced, especially in the carafe. When water/condensation starts during the process, the dots are not always easy to see. 2 - I wish the rubber stopper/lid for the carafe was a bit longer to enable it to create a seal so as to not allow the heat to escape. And wish that the pour opening in the rubber stopper/lid was a bit larger for pouring. 3 - The final thing that I wish for is a reusable,cleanable filter. My french press doesn't need filter replacement, why should my pour over? I like the ability to be as positive impacting on my environment as I am able (recycling, composting, etc. are in my vernacular) For anyone that is considering a 1 or 2 cup pour over, I would very highly recommend adding this to your short list of considerations.

I love the look of this pour-over! Sleek and modern, it looks good on my desk! (This girl loves her accessories)

It keeps coffee hot and ready. It holds just enough so that I consume every drop of the expensive brew.

I agree with another reviewer that the lid could be redesigned to create a seal and keep the coffee hotter longer. Also, be careful when using this as the outside gets VERY HOT. Even though it's double-walled, the heat still transfers!

I would purchase a larger version to make coffee for a small dinner party!
