Cafetalera Zamorana
A NEW FARM DIRECT RELATIONSHIP FOR LADRO
This special coffee comes from Cafetalera Zamorana, founded in 1999 by Don Jorge Zamora Soto, a third‑generation producer. In 2022, Don Jorge and his family shifted their farm and mill toward specialty production, renovating older plantings and focusing on micro‑lots with increased attention to processing and traceability. In March, Ladro’s founder, Jack, traveled to Costa Rica and tasted these coffees at origin while visiting producers, including the Zamora family. Having this direct connection to where our coffee comes from enhances every step of our process - from bean to cup - constantly reminding us of the people and decisions behind the coffees we bring in.
It is a Natural Process coffee with a distinct fruit‑driven profile. In the cup we found caramelized sugar sweetness, jammy red fruit, and a candied tropical fruit finish. The coffee is juicy and expressive while remaining balanced, and exciting with any drip brewing method.
