The Eureka Mignon Silenzio has long been celebrated for its ease of use and quiet grinding, and now, Eureka gives it a welcome performance upgrade by increasing the burr size from 50mm to 55mm, adding an adjustable hands-free portafilter fork and a more powerful 310-watt motor. Need to Know

The Eureka Mignon Silenzio 55 is a compact, whisper-quiet espresso grinder built around 55mm flat steel burrs and Italian engineering that prioritizes simplicity. No touchscreens, no app integration, no unnecessary digital noise—just a stepless grind adjustment dial at your fingertips and a timed dosing system that works exactly as you'd expect. It's built for the home barista who values peace, precision, and espresso that tastes like espresso should.

At this price point, most grinders force you to choose between quiet operation and grind quality. The Silenzio delivers both. Its sound-dampening steel chassis keeps noise to a low hum—early morning grinding won't wake the house. The 55mm flat burrs produce consistent particle distribution across the espresso range, and the stepless micrometric adjustment lets you fine-tune extractions without jumping between preset notches. A few small turns of the front-mounted dial can take you from pour-over territory down to ristretto-fine.

Key Features

  • 55mm flat steel burrs: Proven burr geometry for balanced, traditional espresso profiles
  • Stepless micrometric adjustment: Infinite grind settings between espresso and coarser brew methods
  • Timed dosing with manual override: Program your dose or grind on-demand with a portafilter press
  • Sound insulation: Steel body with internal dampening—one of the quietest grinders in its class
  • Compact footprint: Fits comfortably on countertops with limited real estate
  • Hands-free portafilter fork: Grind directly into your portafilter without holding it in place
  • Low retention design: Minimal coffee left behind between doses

Ideal For

This grinder is perfect for the home barista who wants excellent espresso without the complexity of advanced grinder features. If you're upgrading from a blade grinder or an entry-level stepped grinder, the Silenzio's stepless adjustment and flat burr clarity will be an immediate revelation. It's also an excellent match for anyone in an apartment, shared living space, or household where early morning grinding needs to stay discreet. The Silenzio pairs beautifully with single-boiler and heat exchanger espresso machines in the $500–$2,000 range, and it's compact enough to fit on smaller countertops without dominating the space. If you value Italian build quality, analog controls, and a grinder that does one thing exceptionally well, this is the tool.

So far I am very

So far I am very happy with the grinder. I do wish the unit had a shield going around where the grinds go into the portafilter to keep things tidy and easier the clean but I new the slight mess would be a part of upgrading and looked forward to the higher end grinder. It doesn't create static in the grounds which is very nice and I enjoy it's heavy duty feel. I have the one without a screen and enjoy its simplicity. It looks beautiful next to my LaSpaziale Dream T even with its boxy frame. We try and avoid EMFs for health reasons (it bothers my daughter and I) so glad to see they haven't tried to put bluetooth in these things yet. lol. I appreciate that these are Not made in China. I really want to support the Chinese people by not supporting their tyrannical government the CCP. As a barista, I was trained 14 years ago and have been using an espresso machine ever since so not new to this. Very happy with the machine even though I have to get used to a bit more mess. I use a dry pain brush that is a few inches wide and a very short handle. It's natural wood with natural bristles so it doesn't stick out nor look odd but fits right in with my all natural theme and it works great to clean up the coffee grounds that make it to the counter.

I own the Eureka Mignon

I own the Eureka Mignon Single dose grinder for a year and a half. I love it. After returning from Greece and Turkey my requirements changed to super fine grinding and therefore my choice for larger capacity and a separate machine. The Mignon Silenzio worked beautifully. I would recommend this brand to anyone.

I am so glad I

I am so glad I bought the Eureka Mignon Silenzio 55. I didn’t want too many bells and whistles (electronic keypads). Just great burrs, micro adjustments for espresso that don’t require me to open up the grinder and play with the inside ring. This has a simple manually set timer that works great. Can do a quick tap if I need a few more grinds. Don’t be afraid to go for step-less. I’ve had no problem remembering where I set my dial for the particular bean - I just joint down or amp a pic of the dial. And. I’ve had no problem making a slight adjustment on the second cup of coffee if I’m on a new bag of beans. This was an extraordinary upgrade from the Breville grinder, which wasn’t consistent at all for espresso and certainly not light roast espresso. It jammed all the time. The Silenzio 55 has made my Ascasio Duo shine. Customer service at Clive has been great. Very fast response to my initial set up questions. I’ve also tried some of the tips they email, like the perfect milk frothing and it has worked exactly as they said.

Quiet as a cat

This grinder is amazing. It is quieter than any kitchen gadget I own. That includes any/all coffee grinders I have ever owned over the years. It is quieter than my Ms. Silvia espresso machine. Small form factor - takes very little space (compared to other gadgets and grinders) The grind is consistent and highly fine tune-able thru the continuous adjustment knob. Simple design, the grinder works. Easy to clean. Can't ask for anything more. Easily worth the extra $100 over the other entry level espresso grinder I was considering.

Love this way better than Sette 270!

Very happy with this purchase so far! Easy to adjust and program for timed shots. Great set-up Video was worth the view. Really like the substance of the machine and hope it lasts way longer than the Sette. Our coffee consumption has actually gone up because it’s so easy to use!! Let you know in a year:)!

Great grinder

This grinder is a wonderful example of keeping it simple. With only two knobs and two buttons it should be a working family heirloom far into the future. After setting up the grind and time settings it works silently and quickly and we hardly give it a second thought. Note we bought the red one with chrome spout which does not have an adjustment for the portafilter holder. We wanted the holder to angle up slightly for our portafilter so used a nickel to shim it which worked perfectly and it still has the seamless look. Compared to our inexpensive conical grinder it is quicker, quieter, and much more consistent in the quantity dispensed.

Great grind!

Would have given 5 stars but I don't care for the flimsy porta filter rest or the one that came with mine is not functioning correctly, I do give the sales staff 5 plus stars!

Excellent grinder, strong motor;

Excels at fine-tuning for espresso; not so practical for moving back & forth between fine & course.

My new Silenzio does everything

My new Silenzio does everything I expected it to. While it has a few features that could be improved, I knew what I was getting and would have had to spend considerably more to address these. Thus, I give 5 stars, as I got what I expected/paid for. Pros: excellent grind quality/consistency, easy and precise grind adjustment, compact size, sound level, red color ;-) Cons: portafilter holder, cheaper feeling plastic hopper

This grinder is great! It only takes a tiny fraction of a turn on the dial to change the grind for getting the right grind for an espresso recipe. The grounds fly out of the spout a little too much of an angle though.

The grinder is quick, quiet,

The grinder is quick, quiet, easy to use, nice looking, and most importantly, the espresso tastes amazing. I am surprised how sensitive the grinder is to different brand coffee beans. The grind fineness has to be adjusted with each new bean brand. Not a big deal but didn’t think it would change and friends keep giving us coffee :grinning:.

nice quiet and consistent grinder.

nice quiet and consistent grinder. I wish the adjustment were a a bit easier. changing from one coffee to another its impossible to have a real number setting to go back to. so if you have ground a particular roast level an brand of coffee before no easy way to return to a start point for that coffee. Once you are dialed in minor adjustments are easy. Overall its great value for money

Perfect grind, easy control; clean design, cleanup aside.

Perfect complement to my Profitec Pro 300! Easy to set up, easy to dial in just the right grind. Only minor complaint is that it tends to spray that wonderful grind a bit wide of my portafilter. But the cleanup is worth the results, and at least the style and design is perfectly clean.

Great grinder.

Great grinder. A big step up from the Capresso conical burr grinder I was using. Only downside is that I have a 54mm portafilter and it gets a little messy grinding directly into the basket.

First things first. This grinder

First things first. This grinder is very consistent with grind size and weight. You can run this grinder without waking everyone in the house, it's soooo very quiet. The grind and timer adjustments are to sensitive, this may be because the adjustment dials are so very small. I'm very happy with this grinder, Langford Metzger

Gorgeous and quiet

Great looking grinder and pretty compact. Super quiet. I use it for manual espresso grinding. Small gripes are that the chrome could be of higher quality (gives off a funhouse reflection) and the portafilter holder could be more sturdy. Gorgeous overall and really happy with it. That Ferrari Red really sings.

Excellent Grinder. It takes a bit of time to dial in for the 1:1.5 recipe but worth it. If you're looking for a fundamental basic grinder that does the job this one will work for you. Don't underestimate the need for a good grinder when you budget for your coffee bar equipment.

For the first two hours

For the first two hours I was about ready to take this back. The grind size controller is not that intuitive, as you may need to cycle through multiple turns to get to the right size. But once you sort this out, it does a nice job grinding. And it is both silent and slick looking.
