"Why would you buy any other machine? This machine is in a class all by itself. Really. I have owned a number of machines throughout the years but this one beats them all, hands down. The quality build is only surpassed by its artistic beauty. This wonderful Profitec 300 surpasses many machines priced considerably higher. The question is: this machine does it all and in grand fashion. Thanks Clive coffee for all you do. Great customer service, knowledgeable and friendly people. Couldn't ask for more."

Need to Know

The Profitec Pro 300 delivers dual-boiler performance in kitchens where counter space is at a premium. German-engineered with a saturated group head, built-in PID, and shot timer, this machine delivers the kind of thermal stability and workflow typically reserved for machines twice its size, and twice its price. It's ready to pull shots in 8 minutes, runs on a reservoir, and disappears into minimalist kitchens without compromising capability. For the espresso beginner who wants room to grow without sacrificing counter real estate, the Pro 300 is the rare machine that doesn't ask you to choose between features and footprint.

Key Features

  • Dual boiler system: Simultaneous brewing and steaming with independent temperature control for each boiler
  • Saturated group head: The brew group stays thermally stable, shot after shot, just like commercial machines
  • Built-in PID: Precise digital temperature control so you can dial in light roasts or pull consistent God shots without guesswork
  • 8-minute heat-up: Profitec's fast heat-up mode gets you from a cold machine to pulling shots faster than most single boilers
  • Reservoir-only water supply: No plumbing required. Fill the tank, plug it in, start pulling shots
  • Compact footprint: Dual boiler capability in a chassis that fits in most kitchens
  • Vibratory pump: Quiet, reliable, and perfectly suited for home use

Ideal For

This machine is built for the espresso beginner who's serious about the craft but realistic about their kitchen. If you want the thermal stability of a dual boiler without giving up half your counter, if you're tired of single-boiler wait times between shots and steam, and if you value German build quality that'll last a decade, the Pro 300 is your machine. It's perfect for households pulling 2-4 drinks per session, for anyone who wants to grow their skills without outgrowing their equipment, and for minimalists who refuse to compromise on capability. If you're ready to invest in the last espresso machine you'll need to buy, this is it.

Reviews

Customers praised this dual boiler espresso machine for its exceptional build quality, fast 10-minute warm-up, and consistent temperature control via PID. "Perfect shots" and "silky microfoam" were common highlights. The compact design suits small kitchens well. Some noted the steam wand is short and water reservoir access can be tricky under cabinets.

  • Perfect shots and can steam my milk at the same time.
  • My drinks are now on par with my favorite local coffee shop.
  • I now find myself choosing milk based drinks over espressos.

Very happy with our Profitec!

Very happy with our Profitec! This was a long awaited upgrade, and this machine is worth every penny. After a few days of practice and dialing in beans, we’re pulling consistently good shots and starting to play around with small tweaks. The display makes adjusting temperature easy and the the consistency provided by the PID is noticeable. We did purchase a separate bottomless portafilter and a better tamp, which has really aided in maximizing this machine’s capabilities. I’m glad we went for a dual boiler machine as the milk frother provides enough pressure to create perfect, silky microfoam, causing us to make significantly more milk drinks than with our last machine. It seems as though the machine has no problem handling back-to-back steaming for weekend cappuccinos. And the quick 10 minute warm up is perfect for keeping the weekday morning routine efficient!

Love this machine. Had a Rancillio for 15 years and it finally bit the dust. Wanted to upgrade to a double boiler, but keep the simplicity. This machine delivers!! Perfect shots and can steam my milk at the same time.

I finally took the plunge!

This is an excellent machine for newbies. I only drink a few cups a day, so this was the natural choice. I will save money in the long run! Through watching videos , I’ve managed to make a perfect cup of espresso . The Clive coffee team gave me a nice gift to aid in my enjoyment. Communication has been excellent. I’m thoroughly happy with my choice. You can’t go wrong with the Clive coffee team!

Perfect home machine

My wife surprised me with this machine for Christmas after mentioning to her that I'd like to upgrade to a dual boiler but found the cost prohibitive. This machine is replacing an entry level Breville pre infusion, automatic machine. I frankly didn't know such a perfect dual boiler existed for a small home setup. Here's my situation: I generally make one or two espresso drinks in an average day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, usually a cappuccino or americano. I occasionally make back to back drinks when I have people over. I've been using this machine for about a month. Dialing in my shot times and grind has been a bit of a learning curve, but now it feels second nature. Steaming on the machine is awesome, it's night and day compared to my old Breville. I steam milk for a cappuccino in about 15 seconds and it turns out amazing every time. My drinks are now on par with my favorite local coffee shop. No complaints about build quality, the thing feels bombproof. It gets up to temperature in just a few minutes, but the manual recommends waiting about 10 before pulling a shot. Steam pressure is also ready in a few minutes. On the occasions that I do make drinks back to back, I don't need to wait for the machine to get back to temperature/pressure. The minute or two it takes me to serve the first drink then grind/weigh/tamp the second is enough for the machine to heat back up. All in all, I can't imagine a better machine for my situation. This does everything I need and nothing I don't.

The Profitec Pro 300 has Just the right design trade-offs

I have owned the Profitec Pro 300 for a couple of months now. I love it. I have it paired with a Ceado e6p grinder. I had a Gaggia Classic, a single boiler, for about 15 years. One of the features I liked about it is that it I could turn it on from cold and it would be ready for espresso in 5 minutes. It had a powerful heater and a small boiler allowing for temperature changes to be done very rapidly. I mainly used it to make espresso though and didn’t make milk based drinks very often. When shopping for a new machine, thinking that I would mainly use it for espresso, and wanting to reliably control the temperature, I had narrowed my choices down to the single boiler ECM Classika PID and the dual boiler Profitec Pro 300. I chose the Profitec Pro 300 because it had a relatively fast heat up time and had the ability to leave the steam power off when making only espresso. I was a little concerned that the boilers only have 800 watt heaters which might cause slow heat up times. I have found that turning it on from cold, it is ready in 10 minutes, a little longer than the Gaggia Classic, but not by a lot. That is fine for me. The steam boiler and the brew boiler come to temperature at the same time which is a nice design feature. Once I received the machine and learned how to steam milk with it, I was blown away with the quality of the steamed milk. I highly recommend the video by Victoria at Clive Coffee on how to steam milk. The steamed milk I make with the Profitec Pro 300 and Victoria’s help, comes out so delicious and creamy. I now find myself choosing milk based drinks over espressos. I use a 12 oz steam pitcher to make one 6 oz cappuccino or 10 oz latte. The steam boiler has plenty of capacity for these sizes. I have made multiple lattes sequentially for guests. After making one drink, both boilers heat up fast enough that I can make the second one without extra delay. I haven’t made more than two in a row though. I suppose that making three in a row might add a little more time since the boilers might feed in more cold water. For me, the Profitec Pro 300 is perfect. I don’t have any remorse, wishing that I had bought the ECM Classika PID or even the Profitec Pro 600 dual boiler. I actually prefer the smaller boilers that the Pro 300 has, allowing fast heat up times. One might be concerned that the temperature might vary during the time a shot is pulled, but I saw a video where the temperature variation was shown to be less than 1 degree during a shot as measured using a scace. I have become so enamored with the steamed milk that I also use it to make a blueberry dessert. I put frozen Costco blueberries in a bowl and pour over some steamed milk. It is delicious. I highly recommend the Profitec Pro 300 and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

At August’s recommendation, I upgraded

At August’s recommendation, I upgraded to this machine from my Lelit Victoria. Told him I made daily, single-dosed cappuccinos (1 caf/1 decaf) on weekdays, double that for my wife and me on weekends, and wanted a machine that could handle multiple drinks when we had guests (again.) Just finished two weeks with guests and our Pro 300 was more than up to the challenge. It was always ready to brew or steam before I was. Great consistency. So easy to work with. From espressos to cappuccinos to americanos to affogatos, all guests were impressed and happy. Great. Great machine. Thank you, August and all at Clive. Don’t know what machine could meet or exceed my needs any better.

I upgraded from a Breville

I upgraded from a Breville automatic and WOW what a difference. This machine makes wonderful espresso, easy to use right out of the box. The steam wand is incredibly strong. Milk steams quickly. But like all machines you need to dial in your dose. Once you do this is a nice machine. I do find it takes a good 20 minutes to warm up. The PID is very precise in zeroing in your set temperature. So I use an outlet timer to turn the machine on 20 minutes before I get up. The only negative I have is the steam wand is a bit short and sometimes hard to get the right angle with the portafilter in place. Lastly Clive support is outstanding.

New to espresso but talked

New to espresso but talked with some friends and Clive and settled on this machine because: 1) dual boiler 2) cost 3) PID Main feedback I'd provide is that there seems to be plenty of steam for large milk drinks, and the recovery time is fast enough that (for a newbie at this) I haven't had any problem making multiple drinks. You might have to wait a couple minutes at most, which gives you time to prep for the next shot. I still haven't figured out how the hot water spigot is supposed to work. A bit of hot water comes out and then it's mostly steam. Need to call Clive or do some research. I agonized over grinder options, and was really discouraged with the amount of work it was going to take to clean the Eureka I was looking at (getting the vacuum out regularly seemed intense). Went with another option from another company focused on low/zero retention and single dosing.

Love my pro300!

I love my pro300 and use it every morning. It's convenient with a quick 20 minute warm-up, and the machine is easy to use. I'm able to wake up, turn on the machine, brush my teeth and poop, and it's ready to use by the time I'm done getting ready. I can change the temperature easily between shots, and experiment with what temps work best with the current coffee beans. The 300 easily makes 3-4 back-to-back steamed milk drinks, mostly 5 oz cappuccinos. The steam boiler only takes 5 minutes to warm up, and the steam wand makes perfect microfoam every time. I can steam enough milk for my cap within 20-25 seconds. Love my new morning routine!

Profitec and Clive

Ben at Clive Coffee, actually all the folks have been incredibly helpful. Ben listened to my needs and pinpointed what I needed, as well as explained advantages and disadvantages of more and less expensive machines. Just like finding the perfect fit shoe and knowing the one larger and smaller don’t fit, Ben nailed it w the Profitec. I make 2 lattes every morning. Have been making espresso since I brought my Vesuvio to college In ‘72. The Profitec is a dream! Love love love the machine and the guys at Clive are the bomb. Very trustworthy

Great machine for a great price

Really wonderful machine that had everything we were looking for at a reasonable price. The team at Clive was incredible at helping us make sure we made the right decision. If I had to be picky, it would be nice to have an indicator for when the water reservoir is low and/or drip tray full, but we knew what we were getting into! Love the ease of use.

Great But a Few Suggested Improvements

Overall great machine. Here are just some suggested improvements from my experience.

- A way to fill the water reservoir from the front instead of only from the very back of the machine would be very, very, much appreciated. For myself, and I suspect many others, I have the machine sitting on my kitchen counter and underneath the kitchen cabinets. Because of the cabinets I cannot reach the water reservoir to refill without pulling this rather large and heavy machine (that doesn't slide at all) out every time it needs refilling (which is pretty often).

- Would love to see the the two large holes on the back reservoir cover that currently allow dust, etc, to fall directly into the water be removed.

- Would be great if the shot timer continued to display the shot time for maybe 20 seconds so I have chance to see it. As it is right now the moment you stop your shot the timer resets back to temperature display. So while I pull my shots based on weight, I do like to check after I've stopped the shot how long it took.

- Would prefer the machine come with one bottomless portafilter instead of the single spout portafilter. Also with a triple shot basket would be nice.

- Would like to see slightly larger knobs for the steam and hot water like any of the knobs on the Profitec 400/500/600/700.

love this machine

Only negative is the length of the steam wand, it's kind of short for double batch of latte milk. The machine heats up super fast and pulls great shots. I went with the bottomless portafilter and the Pullman 876 basket. Our water is very hard so I do distilled water with 0.38g Potassium Bicarbonate to 1 gallon of water. Upgrading to 4 hole steam tip soon. I think the only thing you wound want in a more expensive machine is fancy looks and pre-infusion, which are both reasonable considerations. You are supposedly to replace the gasket and screen annually but it is impossible to find those parts in-stock.

This is a fantastic machine!.

This is a fantastic machine!. I've had several machines over the years, with my last one being a Breville, single boiler (which made some good espresso). However, the Profitec is so good at dialing the shots in. Changing temperature, and timing each shot are wonderful for different types of beans. The steaming wand strong for making great milk drinks.

Love it!

Coming from a Gaggia Classic, I knew this would be a big improvement. But it far exceeds my expectations! I make 3-4 flat whites daily and this machine is perfect for that load. It heats and pressures up in less than 10 min and the steam is quick to come back to pressure after my 6 oz milk steam. It is a straightforward, easy to use machine.

So pleased

I love this machine. I started out initially thinking we'd go for something fully auto, but after going down some very intense rabbit holes of internet research I convinced my partner and myself that I'd never truly find happiness unless I had a DB machine...and I'm glad this machine is where I landed. It's built like a tank, easy to get the hang of, relatively compact, and after a few weeks of practice, I can make myself a latte in less time than my former preferred brewing method of an Aeropress. It's also simple enough that my partner who has absolutely no interest in espresso whatsoever is able to use it to pull decent shots. This has improved my quality of life to the point where I actually stop doom scrolling in the mornings and get out of bed excited for espresso.
