Description

Take Me Home brings the sweet, sun-soaked flavors of Costa Rica's Tarrazú region straight to your morning routine. Roasted by Portland's Greater Goods, this honey-processed coffee comes from a multi-generational partnership with the Solís brothers at their Don Oscar micromill in San Marcos. The result is a cup that tastes like liquid toffee, with notes of marzipan and vanilla bean threading through a light-to-medium body that never weighs you down.

What makes this coffee special is the red honey process—a method where some of the fruit's natural mucilage is left on the bean during drying, creating deep sweetness without fermentation funk. The Solís family's meticulous approach, from soil analysis to calibrated processing equipment, ensures every harvest improves on the last. Hand-picked at elevations between 1,650 and 2,000 meters, these Catuaí varietal beans develop complex sugars that translate to that signature toffee-almond character in the cup.

Tasting Notes

Expect a smooth, approachable profile that leads with buttery toffee, followed by the sweet nuttiness of marzipan and a gentle vanilla finish. The body is light enough for all-day drinking but substantial enough to hold its own in milk drinks. Acidity is balanced and rounded—think ripe stone fruit rather than citrus brightness. The finish lingers with a pleasant sweetness that invites another sip.

Brew Methods

Take Me Home shines as a pour-over, where its delicate sweetness and clarity can fully express themselves. It's equally excellent as drip coffee for easy mornings or pulled as espresso for milk-based drinks—the honey process provides enough body and sweetness to cut through steamed milk beautifully. French press works well too, though you'll want to keep brew times shorter to preserve the lighter body.
