The LUCCA A53 Pro is a dual-boiler prosumer espresso machine that refuses to compromise. Designed by LUCCA and built on La Spaziale's commercial foundation, it's the first A53 to switch between reservoir and direct plumbing without having to choose between two machines. That means you can plumb it into your machine when you're ready or move it between locations without having to rethink your entire setup. It's the machine small cafés, coffee carts, and serious home baristas have been waiting for: commercial reliability, residential flexibility, and none of the bulk.

Under the hood: independent steam and brew boilers with PID control, a rotary pump for whisper-quiet operation and adjustable pre-infusion (in plumbed mode), and a 53mm commercial group head. Increased cup clearance accommodates scales and larger mugs with ease. The Integrated brew lights shot timer keeps your workflow visible and repeatable. Adjustable steam pressure lets you dial in your steaming for whatever drink or milk you choose. The Volumetric dosing keeps shots consistent, whether you're pulling two or twenty. The iOS La Spaziale app lets you program a daily on/off schedule, so your machine can be ready to pull shots before you even step out of bed.

Key Features

  • Dual boiler system: Independent brew and steam boilers mean zero wait time between brewing and steaming
  • Rotary pump: Quieter operation, adjustable pre-infusion in plumbed mode
  • Switchable water source: Use the internal reservoir or plumb it directly into a water line. No permanent commitment. To plumb in your machine, you need the LUCCA A53 Pro Direct Plumb Kit (sold separately).
  • PID temperature control: Dial in your brew temperature to the degree
  • Commercial 53mm group head: Saturated group head for thermal stability
  • Integrated shot timer and brew lights
  • Adjustable steam pressure: Fine-tune your milk texture for different dairy and plant-based options with ease
  • Increased cup clearance: Fits a scale and your favorite cups, with ample space.
  • Volumetric dosing: Program 2 separate shot profiles and let the machine stop automatically
  • Drainable drip tray: Optional via the LUCCA A53 Pro Direct Plumb Kit if you want the convenience of never having to dump your drip tray

Ideal For

Home baristas at any skill level who want a machine they won't outgrow. Small cafés, coffee carts, food trucks, and offices that need commercial durability without the size or power requirements of a multi-group machine. The A53 Pro thrives in low-to medium-volume environments where reliability and flexibility matter more than sheer throughput. Anyone planning to plumb in eventually, but not today. Start with the reservoir, plumb in when you're ready.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Don't take our word for it.

Customers praise this espresso machine for "excellent espresso," reliable performance, and compact design. It handles high-volume use well, with "insane" steam power. Initial group head leaks resolved quickly. Some concerns about thin exterior paneling and packaging quality, but internal components are "built like a tank."

    • Half the price of a Linea Mini, and can pull back to back shots no problem.
    • Used it for 85 drinks in 2 hours and had no issues with it holding up!
    • It pulls amazing shots and is just so nice to look at.

So far so good. Group head leaked a little for first use but running a few shots through seems to have sealed whatever seal was leaking. Machine keeps up with a pretty demanding pace, brews excellent espresso, and was pretty user friendly for a newby.

    2 months in

I’m 2 months into using this machine. I used it with the reservoir for the majority of the time, but I decided to finally overcome my irrational fear and plumb it into my coffee cart this week and it’s been amazing. There has been a bit more inconsistency with my volumetric programming since plumbing it, but I’m not sure if that’s coincidental with my new bag of beans or related to the water supply. I am really happy with the machine overall. It’s user friendly as a beginner to commercial equipment and it’s not difficult to transport. I’ve used it for a mid volume event of 85 drinks in 2 hours and had no issues with it holding up! I recommend it.

    Consistent, reliable, and adaptable

I bought this for my coffee trailer after my initial 2-group machine ended up taking up too much space and using too much power. I love the small footprint on this machine and the flexibility of having it plumbed in or using the internal tank. Also, being able to use the 20A plug in my trailer makes the heat-up time and setup so much faster. I can actually move it by myself and the manuals on Clive's site have been so helpful in allowing me to change modes and troubleshoot. Paul's customer service throughout the process was also amazing and I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Love the machine absolutely no issues in terms of its ability to make espresso quietly and efficiently, the steam power is insane! Unfortunately the reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the packaging of the machine, it had the rear panel detached on the bottom and I was lucky to find the 2 bottom screws for it rolling around in the box not to mention it seemed to have been hastily repackaged and put into the box a bit lopsided luckily nothing was damaged but I feel that if I'm gonna be paying $3500 for a machine it should be packaged with care. Furthermore, I was disappointed in the build quality of the outside of the machine the insides where the boiler and pump are located are solid and built like a tank but the outside paneling felt super cheap I know wood side panels are available but I'm not just talking about the side panels (cheap plastic aside) the outer metal also felt super thin and cheap.

    Wow, amazing machine

This machine is beautiful, and one of my new favorite machines. Ive had many commercial machines and this one is top in quality. Its half the price of a Linea Mini, and can pull back to back shots no problem. Im using it on a coffee cart!
