Need to Know

The LUCCA Solo is an espresso purist's machine. No steam wand. Just a commercial-grade E61 group head, PID temperature control, and a shot timer, everything you need to pull exceptional espresso, and nothing you don't. Built exclusively for Clive Coffee by Quick Mill in Italy, the Solo is a single-boiler machine designed for the home barista who drinks espresso straight and wants total control over the extraction.

At $1,395, this is one of the most accessible ways to get an E61 group head and PID stability in a compact, reservoir-fed package. The 2-liter built-in reservoir means no plumbing required — just fill, heat, and pull. The walnut wood touchpoints (on black and stainless variants) add a handcrafted warmth that most machines in this price range skip entirely.

Key Features

  • E61 group head (58mm): Commercial standard. Temperature-stable, forgiving of technique, compatible with every aftermarket accessory worth owning
  • PID temperature control: Set your brew temp digitally and trust it stays there. No guessing, no temperature surfing
  • Built-in shot timer
  • Vibratory pump
  • 2L water reservoir: Reservoir-only operation
  • Espresso-only design: No steam wand. If you don't steam milk, why pay for (and clean) hardware you'll never use?
  • Handmade in Italy by Quick Mill

The Solo is for the home barista who has moved past pod machines and manual lever presses and is ready for the control and consistency of a PID-equipped E61. It's for the espresso purist who drinks their coffee straight: no lattes, no cappuccinos, no milk drinks cluttering the workflow. It's for the minimalist who wants a compact machine that doesn't compromise on the fundamentals. And it's for anyone working with a serious grinder who wants their espresso machine to keep up without requiring a second mortgage.

If your counter space is limited, your coffee preferences are focused, and your technique is developing, the Solo is a centered, intentional choice. It won't do everything, but it will do espresso brilliantly.

LUCCA is the newest addition

LUCCA is the newest addition to my collection of coffee gear. Since a steam wand was not something I needed, this machine had just what I want & not what I didn't. The E61 group is a known feature. The PID works perfectly & the water fill under the cup warmer is very ergonomic. The machine heats quickly. The small footprint is ideal for me, since I already owned several types of machines & just had room for this slim unit.

Finally a small machine that makes a really good cup of coffee. Hard to find anything wrong with this machine, however I would be happy to have paid more for parts etc. to be in heavier gauge metals.

Well made - no brainer upgrade from gaggia classic

I bought one of the open box units in order to save a few hundred dollars. Great decision since it looked and performed like a brand new machine.

I upgraded from a Gaggia classic and there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the espresso. I'm guessing its due to the consistent pressure and temperature, and because of the far superior water dispersion.

It takes a little longer to heat up so I bought a smart outlet and that solved the problem. I also like that it goes into eco mode so if I sleep in anyday I'm not wasting energy.

What I like about this machine in particular is the minimalist look due to the lack of steam wand and the quality construction. Sometimes I find myself just staring at it in admiration (I shouldn't be admitting these things on the internet :) )
