However, some reported power switch failures and one customer struggled with consistency. The compact size, fast warm-up, and automation features received high marks.

    • Best purchase ever! Great step up from Breville. Easy to use. Beautiful design as well.
    • Simple enough for a novice to use but also plenty of options for the more advanced user.

    Glad I made the Move with Clive!

    From Breville to the Profitec Move. I wanted a “manual” experience so that I could learn, take on the hobby, and develop some skills. There’s nothing wrong with the Breville Barista models I’ve owned before, but I yearned for more control. The “Move” fits me wonderfully! I’ve owned for about 6 weeks now and use it multiple times a day for flat whites, Americanos, and white chocolate mochas. It’s built like a tank, has enough automation (love how it turns itself on and off), and makes killer espresso! So glad I made the “Move” and so happy with the Clive experience!

    Was Great & Then It Stopped Working

    I've had my Profitec Move for 6-months and have been very pleased with it. It's was a big upgrade for me over my Breville. The espresso taste is so much more with the Move. Love the size of the machine and how easy it is to use and clean. and it looks great.

    And then, it stopped working about a week ago. The machine would not power on. After some research, I found the power switch is a known failure point on this machine. I am frustrated that Profitec has not done a recall on the power switch to address the issue.

    I would not purchase a Move unless the power switch has been replaced.

    Expensive mistake

    I have held back writing this review for months but my opinion hasn't changed during that time. I bought the machine in October 2025 along with a Eureka Mignon Zero 65 AP grinder. I have a notebook full of adjustments I have made so that I could zero in on all the settings that work for me. For months, I wrote down every setting for every drink I made. However, everyday it is like a science experiment that never turns out well. I previously had a Breville Oracle for 9 years and I will say that I never had a bad latte from this machine. And I wasn't constantly having to make adjustments to get a good drink. I always felt that my lattes were at least as good and mostly better than the local coffee shops. In all the time I have had this machine I have had 2 or 3 that were OK. The problem is that you can never replicate those drinks with exactly the same settings. I consider this purchase my worst purchase ever. As a retired person it is not easy to come up with $3,000+ for a machine and grinder. Aside from never being able to duplicate an OK drink, I hate that you don't have a visible water level to go by. And you can't refill the water tank without pulling the machine out from under the cabinet to access the tank. You can't even check the water tank level without pulling the machine out from under the counter. The machine is heavy and this is not easy to do. I use to enjoy getting up in the morning and making my latte. But now it is time consuming and messy and the outcome is mostly dismal. I use the same beans from a local roaster that I have always used. I bought an auto tamper thinking that might be a problem. I bought new precision baskets as someone said that was important. And as a side note a 20 gm basket will not fit in the portafilter with the silicone spouted attachment. I have made shots that were so awful they literally made you sick to drink them. I regret not having that special part of the day to relax and have a good latte. If I want a decent latte now, I have to go to one of the local coffee shops. I have watched numerous videos on setting up this machine and making adjustments. I seriously regret buying this machine and I am not sure when or if I can afford to buy something else.

    Before I share my experience

    Before I share my experience with the Profitec Move, I would like to acknowledge the courtesy that Clive Coffee extended to me during my probably unusual purchase experience. My first "Move" broke after 4 days of use. I received a brand new machine. That one I returned because the steam valve was not tightly mounted. Again, the machine was exchanged without charge. —By now, I have used my last shipped "Move" for over four weeks. My view is: coffee and steam frothing work perfectly!—It's a marvellous machine!—It boasts many more programming features that I still have to explore.

    Broken out of the box

    We unboxed our Move yesterday and pulled three practice shots. This morning I go to turn it on and it won't turn on. After hours of troubleshooting I have come to believe our machine is one in a batch of faulty on/off buttons. It's all over reddit. The only way this machine will maintain power and warm up is if I stand there holding the on/off button down. It's really unbelievable that a $2250 product comes broken out of the box. Not impressed one bit.

    We’ve had a lot of fun learning on this more advanced machine! It’s beautiful and a joy to use—the black finish is sharp and the walnut accents are a great touch. Exploring the customizations and making it truly our own has been a treat. The bottomless portafilter means fewer bulky accessories to keep track of, and the dual boiler lets me make a drink more quickly and efficiently. Excited to have this machine for years to come!

    Amazing machine

    Absolutely blew me away with how quality of a machine this Profitec Move is. The fit and finish is incredible, and the shots it pulls are nothing short of sublime. The shot timer is very useful, and the milk wand is very powerful. If there's one complaint, it's that the amount of boiling water in one pull was surprisingly low, but the machine heats up water fast enough it isn't a major issue. Besides that, it's a wonderful machine and I hope to have it for years to come.

    I love my new MOVE

    I love my new MOVE espresso maker. It makes coffee so much faster than the machine I replaced. It has a great balance of new features on the PID control and lights make it easy to see what you are doing. I also like that you get so many accessories like the bottomless portafilter and a decent tamper.

    Customer Support is Excellent

    The coffee machine is good. After figuring out how to build a good puck I'm getting really good shots out of it.

    What I want to mention though is how GREAT Clive support was. I had a minor issue with my order and they sent me a replacement part with rushed shipping! Just opened a chat (which btw love that they have a live chat with CS with quick response, so helpful) and I had a replacement in minutes. I will buy all my coffee stuff from here going forward with how seamless of an experience it was. A++!

    Not perfect, but very very good

    Overall a good machine which I am very happy with. I love:
    * The physical size is perfect, nice and compact
    * Looks sharp and premium
    * Warms up fast

    On the negative side:
    * The head group gasket came faulty. With the blank basket it would spray everywhere, replacing the gasket was an easy fix.
    * The pump builds pressure very fast, which makes the initial preinfusion more intense than I would prefer.

    I wanted this unit because of the size and dual boiler (milk drinks are a priority for me). It has helped speed up my workflow a lot, and overall I am very happy.

    Exceeded My Expectations!!

    This is my second espresso machine. When my Breville "died", I decided it was time to graduate to something that was superior in all aspects and would allow me to advance my skills. I spent several weeks researching espresso machines in my price range and decided on the Profitec Move. The first latte and a flat white were made today and they were exceptional. I would highly recommend the Profitec Move to any espresso drinker who wants an exceptional machine for home. Don't question the price; it is worth every bit of what I paid. Love the aesthetics too!!
